What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when I say: Orange County, California! Is it Disneyland? Or the beach?  Maybe.  But this sunny slice of paradise has more to offer than just that. Today, I’m going to take you on a tour of 6 lesser-known activities that you can enjoy, whether you’re a savvy local or a curious tourist… I’ll bet you haven’t heard of some of these. From outdoor adventures to cultural attractions, Orange County has something for everyone. So buckle up and get ready to explore 6 new options in our area! 

1: Oak Canyon Nature Center

Our first stop is the Oak Canyon Nature Center, located in Anaheim Hills. This 58-acre nature preserve offers scenic hiking trails that wind through lush forests and alongside a babbling creek. The Nature Center itself is a hub for environmental education, offering interactive exhibits and educational programs for all ages. With so much natural beauty to explore, Oak Canyon Nature Center is the perfect spot to reconnect with the great outdoors.

2: The Great Park Balloon

Up, up, and away! Our next stop is the Great Park Balloon, located in Irvine. This giant tethered helium balloon is a sight to behold, and it offers panoramic views of Orange County from 400 feet in the air. On a clear day, you can see all the way to the ocean! The balloon operates daily, weather permitting. So why not take to the skies and see Orange County from a whole new perspective?

3: The Muckenthaler Cultural Center

If you're looking for a bit of culture, head to the Muckenthaler Cultural Center in Fullerton. This historic mansion was once home to the Muckenthaler family, but it has since been transformed into a hub for the arts. The Center hosts art exhibitions, musical performances, and cultural events throughout the year. Take a stroll through the beautiful gardens, admire the architecture, and soak up the creative vibes. 4: Santa Ana Art Walk

5: Lyon Air Museum
